Youbeautydiscovery September 2014

This month is youbeauty discovery's 1st birthday and I was looking forward to this months selection and thought that it would be amazing but sadly it wasn't amazing and whereas some months I find it hard to chose it wasn't too hard this month and even my choices are a little meh to me.
Add to this that I can't use one extra and the other extra is a duplicate of an item I got from a latest in beauty box it isn't the greatest box for me.

Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm 1.8g Unique pink (worth about £7.20)
This is a very very light pink that shows up clear on my very dark lips and would only ever be useful as a rather expensive lip balm.

Wild about beauty Nutrilips Colour SPF15 3.5g 02 bobbie (£15)
This is a nice moisturising lipstick and when I ordered I hoped to get any colour but a nude and this is quite a light nude and although it is a nice colour I don't really do nudes.
I had really hoped for a red, a pink or an orange but as shades vary I suppose it was down to luck.

Crabtree & Evelyn teas (2 bags- blackberry green tea and afternoon tea)
Two tea bags from a company that does nice nail varnish and hand creams. An odd but popular choice for beauty box extras is tea bags though.

£25 voucher for Hello Fresh
As an existing customer I can't use this so it is a bit of a useless extra to me.

Toni & Guy Glamour Volume Plumping Whip (£8.49)
This is a duplicate product for me and is a generous extra and a good brand but sadly I wouldn't use it as I definitely do not need more body in my hair as I have super frizzy hair.

Face sponge
The final product is another extra and to be honest I use brushes when I do wear make up so have no real use to it especially as most products I would use this on, like bb creams, come with their own sponges with them.

That was my youbeautydiscovery box for September and it was okay but not really into it even though it is good value for £6.95.
Roll on October

  1. The items I wanted were all 'out of stock' so I'm waiting for the nail polish quick dry stuff and something else that I probably don't want. The extras are also useless to me, sadly. I'm beginning to feel a little like I want this box to let me see the choices before charging me!

  2. If you use paypal I think you can if you receive the preview email as their cancellations are instant... In general I find this an okay box. But laughed when I saw lovemebeauty are tryin the same thing... Oh dear
