LIpmonthly October 2014 and extras

Image
I have cancelled this box but I am not sure if this is my last or not. It is okay but I like others more. This is a lip product mystery bag that comes from Canada and is about £8 or £9 a month after p and p and although it has a lot for the money it is only so so for me. But back to this months bag as well as the three extras that they sent me for doing my youtube reviews.

Lipmonthly July box

Image
My favourite box this month was rather unexpected as Lip Monthly had some issues with their June boxes so when I received my July box I actually signed up for 4 months as it was amazing.  Additionally, this box is actually my second cheapest subscription despite it coming from Canada as it is about £8 a month when I signed up for four. But why am I so happy and what product in this box was my best red lipstick ever?

Orange and coral lips... Products I have tried 2014

Image
I always say I have fairly dark lips so I decided to show you my natural lip colour so you can see the difference that these lip products make so you can see what difference they make to me, although they may look different on you in different lights as you have different skin tone and natural lip colours. I have to admit that I rarely follow trends in anything but I am for once seeming to loving a trend in makeup and that is the emergence of a lot of orange and coral lip colours on the make up scene and since buying an orange lip colour when I was holiday up north at the beginning of this month my collection has increased and although I don't really have many I thought I would show you the 9 that I have.

Five February favourites

Image
After having loads of empties this month I decided to only have five favourites this month, especially as these are all new products to me and I couldn't find much I was enthused about that I haven't mentioned in favourites or in depth in reviews before, like the youthmud.  Although I will be doing a big review of the youthmud capturing it to it's big sister soon as hubby is buying me both for Mother's Day so it hasn't been completely forgotten.

Collective haul

I have broken my no buy and this close to my birthday I really can't be bothered to get back onto the horse again. I got my birthday money early from hubby so I got some products I want to try, either for my blog or my own personal use or through pure curiosity.  This was done over a few weeks and has some items from superdrug, Asda, yves Rocher, the body shop and a magazine freebie. I also have a few more items coming, including one huge purchase, but I want to clear this stuff from where it was so I am splitting my haul. My first items came from superdrug and are mostly bought for blogposts or through curiosity. From left to right I purchased: Tanya Burr lipgloss in 'Vampire Kiss' Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 005 Crush Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in 220 Showy Maybelline New York color tattoo 24hr in 35 On and on bronze. Vitamin E skincare Hot cloth cleanser with muslin cloth. I really wanted to try the hot cloth cleanser as miss ...

January 2014 favourites

Image
These are my January favourites.  I can't believe it is February now.  Looking at them I realise only one I paid full price for which amuses me.  Most were new to me in January but I really love them as they were good finds or will in gaps in my stash. First is my Mark Hill hair dryer that I got in my boots haul. It was only six pounds and I really love it as after a long time of not owning a hair dryer this has become an essential. Such a great buy and I love the flowers and hearts patterns. Next is my favourite of the revlon Colorburst lip butters I have bought this month. After seeing that so many youtubers loved these I had to buy these and this is one is in the shadeTutti Frutti.  On a side note is think I might be addicted to YouTube and I blame it for lots of my purchases. Tutti Frutti is a beautiful coral shade and I love love love it if I want a more natural look, rather than the lipstick I also have in this b...

I got 'Undressed' with two lip butters today...

Image
Before my shopping amnesty started I managed to get in a superdrug order that arrived today. Inside I got Undressed by MUA and two more Revlon Lip butters, because 4 is good but more is better.  They are currently £5 each at Superdrug and it was free postage over £10 so I bought two of these and then purchased the palette as an afterthought due to my own curiosity. Today I purchased, from left to right, Berry Smoothie and Candy Apple. Here is a swatch of the two shades. The top one is Berry Smoothie and is dark pink with red undertones and the bottom one is Candy Apple which is a red with orange undertones and they are both very pretty, but very different shades. I wore Candy apple today and I really love how moisturising these feel on the lips and how well the colour lasts. After my amnesty I will buying more when I can find more darker shades. Anyone got any suggestions for someone with pale skin and dark lips of possible Revlon lip butter shades that I'll enjoy? ...

More Revlon Lip butters

Image
I think I might be getting a bit obsessed with the Revlon Lip butters. They were still in Boots for 2 for £10 yesterday when I went in to look at the 70% off sale so I picked up another two as I really love lollipop and tutti frutti. I bought and reviewed these  here. I got two of the more dark ones again as my lips are quite dark against my pale skin so I can't really use the lighter ones as it looks odd to me to see them lighter than the norm. Yesterday I got Raspberry Pie and Red Velvet to add to my collection. The top one is raspberry pie that can layered to a very dark pink and below is Red Velvet that is a brown with a red undertone. Both are great and I loved wearing Red Velvet today as it is so moisturising and not heavy or greasy on the lips. Both are highly pigmented with a slight shimmer and gloss. Such a great product and I will definitely buy more in the future. x-J-x

What's in my make up bag?

Image
I am using my Espa bag as a make up bag at the moment and it is very handy as it is just the right size. But what is inside it? The first product is my Dr. lipp original nipple balm for lips in a 15ml size. Although it is very waxy it is really great for sore lips and the waxy and stickiness decreases over time and leaves sore chapped lips feeling incredible. This came from my you beauty advent calendar. The second product is my slanted kabuki brush by the body shop. I use this for blending after I using my foundation brush and my blusher brush for my blusher. Like all body shop brushes it is incredibly soft and feels incredible quality for the price. This was a free gift from a magazine subscription. The third product is my body shop face & body brush that I use for my foundation. It has the same built in quality as my kabuki brush. I got this from the body shop before Christmas when everything was half price and it gives my foundation a more even appl...

Boots haul, a repurchase from Amazon and a product I have jumped on the love train of...

Image
Feeling ill with a cold at the moment and post Christmas blues so decided to shuttle off to Boots to cheer myself up and also buy some supplies to deal with my extremely sore throat that managed to terrorise my sleep last night and left me feeling rather weak today. I wanted to go there as well to buy some products after seeing them on youtube videos and wanted t try them out myself. So what did I buy today at Boots? The first product I wanted after seeing youtube videos was the Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer in the skin tone fair. I need a concealer to be very light to match my skin and this is perfection. I haven't tried it on my under eyes yet but I have tried it on my hand on a freckle and it disguises them well so it must be good. One of the main things I went in for was throat lozenges so I got these: Strepsils Orange with Vitamin C 100mg. I hope these give me some relief as my throat feels like I've been gargling razor blades. Ple...
