Birchbox February 2014

Image
After staying in all day my birchbox finally came this evening and I was really excited as I had looked at the sneak peek but as my surveys weren't working it really was a surprise today as the sneak peak is only ever a preview really.  I really loved the colourful leaflets this month and they really made my even more excited for my products. These are my products this month and to be honest on first look I was less excited but after examining them I realised I would use all but one product and I knew everyone was getting that. I just wish I could use a preference of 'my eyesight is terrible, please don't send me eyeliner.' I have to admit that I haven't got a photo of the mini green & black organic dark chocolate as I ate it straight away. Sorry, but it was delicious and I couldn't resist. Not the most amazing lifestyle extra but taste none the less.... Yummy. So what did I receive, other than the chocolate? The firs...

My top ten nail products at the moment

Image
For anyone who has read my posts before they are aware having any nails is a new prospect for me as I have bitten them since I was a baby but a few months ago I was able to stop that habit. A lot of that is down to being about to pretty my nails up as pretty as possible and initially it was done to nail varnish as I knew that if I bit them I would have to reapply and at the beginning I was terrible at applying nail varnish so I decided it was easier to not bite than apply more nail varnish. So, I decided to do a post about some of the products that have helped me to stop biting my nails and have made me happy when I am either wearing or using them. These are my top ten products and I will countdown then down below and explain why I love them so much. #10. This one might be odd but it is cotton buds/ Q tips. Great for small smudges around the nails and especially useful if just learning to paint your nails, granted most people learn a lot younger than at the age of 31. ...

My 'vamp' leighton denny nails.... with a little help from their friends

Image
Some of my NCLA nail wraps got loose this afternoon and I decided to remove them before they fell off and I really wanted to try out the Leighton Denny nail varnish I received in my youbeauty advent calendar as well as a couple of products I hadn't used properly yet and that I wanted to try out but was unable to as I was using nail wraps.  This is my nails with the shade 'VAMP' from Leighton Denny and below are the products I used to get to that picture from having naked nails after removing my NCLA wraps after wearing them for the last week. I used four products and all of them I have had for less than a month. The product on the left is the Elegant Touch Rapid dry for nails and I received this in my November Glossybox. It is holds 125ml of the product and it says it will dry your nails in 60 seconds and with this nail varnish it worked really well and for once I haven't smudged my nails while looking after my son. It was fab. It has added vitam...

On the fourth day of advent... ciate and youbeautydiscovery

On the fourth day of advent my Ciate calendar gave to me: 5g of sequins in miss mistletoe. These are tiny sequins in different colours that can be used as a topping on your nail varnished nails and given a lovely textured finish. I would love to show you how these look but my nail wraps are still holding on and I want to see how long they will hold on. I will however report back and might do a review on the sequins with nail varnish in the future. On the fourth day of advent my youbeauty advent calendar gave to me: A 4.6ml Leighton Denny nail varnish in vamp. It is a very dark purpley brown and would look lush on my nails and is pretty welcome in my collection as I have no colours like it in my collection. It is in a really classy bottle and is so cute in it's dinky form. According to the booklet this shade is 'rouge-noir with slightly more black in the undertone for when only dramatic will do' but to me it is simply divine. I have a feeling this will ...
