Birchbox December (2nd box as this one is start of new prepaid sub)

Image
This is my second Birchbox this month (although it arrived in Jan it was ordered in Dec) and this is the start of a six month membership my in laws gave me for Christmas as well as the Birchbox Christmas box that was reviewed  here  and that I loved, especially the Macadamia hair masque, which I have repurchased, and the twistbands, which I now have lots of. I wasn't really happy with my last two boxes but I was happy when I saw what I would get in this box as it fitted me a lot better and I really hated the sin girl stuff and I have more eyeshadow in this sample, although they did send me another. These are the leaflets from this months box and are very festive. I would like more information in them but the gift tags were very cute and I could attempt the bun. These are the contents inside my bag this month. The logo is lemon yellow and I really like these bags for my empties. So what was in my bag? Firstly, a Twist band in a tangerine Orange colour. Birchbox December 2013

Image
I have to admit my box came at 4pm and by that time the curiosity to see what I had was too much and I first looked at their Facebook site, oh my they have stirred up a hornets nest, and then went and looked at my surveys to see what I would get in my box and to be honest as a Christmas box it was a let down. On receiving it and opening the outside packaging I was pleasantly surprised as the pattern is really nice and my picture doesn't really do it justice. It is reminiscent of lots of Christmas trees to my eyes. Really a lot prettier than the normal box. First thing I saw when I opened the box was a voucher, which I will discuss below, as well as a rather festive looking set of cards as well as my information cards. To be honest I preferred the leaflet and these cards just feel like they are looking for another opportunity to sell to me. Call my a cynic, but it probably is. This is my $20 Baublebar gift card and a bit of a fake gift as all it does is give you free...

My twist bands arrived.

After waiting in for an Amazon parcel this morning I was surprised when the doorbell went again and even more surprised when the post man had a Birchbox parcel. The Birchbox isn't due to come for a week so I was rather puzzled and it took me a while to remember that I ordered some more twistbands on Sunday after receiving one in  this  box. Inside the rather large box was this nicely wrapped bag. Inside this bag was this product. I could never express how much I love these twistbands after using them for two days.  They don't yank on my hair and pull my hair out when I remove them from my waist length hair and they are also extremely pretty and don't go odd and degrade in the wet like hair bobbles might. These are in the Chelsea colour pallette and are sold by Birchbox  here.  They are ten pounds plus £2.95 postage per order and are a bargain at the price. They only cost me the postage and packaging as I used my rewards points and I am over the mo...

Birchbox Limited Edition Christmas 2013

Image
I asked for a gift subscription from Birchbox this Christmas from the in laws after seeing that anyone you bought a 6 month or year subscription would get the Limited Edition Christmas Box and it was the only way to get it. I have to admit a little curiosity into the Hot Cloth Cleanser has led me onto buying 6 months as well as the fact that my in laws will fund a six month present that won't be a household object that we need rather than something that I want as a luxury, so this year they bought me six months and the free box. It was a lovely looking box. Inside the box there is the following: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser 100ml Starter Kit Molton Brown Pink Pepperpod Body Wash 300ml One Twistband Hair tie. Two teapigs teabags Givenchy Noir Couture Mascara 1.5g Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque 100ml Liz Earle Cleanser and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser has appeared on some of the blogs I've read and the youtube videos I've seen and...
