Pinkparcel May 2015

Image
Pinkparcel is a monthly period box that contains beauty products and a couple of food/drink samples as well as tampons or sanitary towels. It is a good box in general but, unlike me, it is late most months and that is increasingly frustrating that for two out of three months it has been days late. Having to go out and get my own supplies really negates the reasoning behind getting this box. But, enough of that, here is what I got as extras in my box this month. The first item is a sheet mask from anatomicals called the botanical hydrating rose face mask. I have used sheet masks for over a year now and have only tried a couple of western ones, rather than loads of Korean sheet masks, and have found that they aren't as good in my limited experience.  But I am happy to try this mask and see what it is like. Anatomicals as a brand are a bit hit and miss for me but I like rose products so that is another plus. I may well use and review this in the next week or so. ...

Youbeauty discovery may 2015

Image
Despite my whinge about the quick sell outs this month I did manage to secure a couple of items from the menu of youbeauty discovery this month as well as two extras. This is my box for May 2015. The first item in my box is an extra and it is a sample of Jimmy Choo Man eau de toilette. This is an odd extra in a box which will be bought predominantly by women for their own use but I am guessing that most people will pass it on to male member of their family or household. I don't think I will be wearing it though but will give it to Paul to wear. The second item in my box this month is the 100% natural vegetable fibre face cloth from TheKonjacSpongeCo. This is shaped in a vague angel shape (mine seems to be divebombing) and the packaging says that it is kinder to the skin than a standard muslin cloth. According to the write up on the back it can be used with or without cleanser for daily cleansing or to remove face masks, hot cleansers and waterproof makeup....

Family friday: Weleda skinfood

Image
When I wrote about my holy grail products I managed to forget about this family favourite and decided to include it as a family friday item. This is Weleda skinfood and I love it. The distinctive green tube is large in size for the price at 75ml. This is an all purpose cream that has an extremely thick texture and although it would be unsuitable as a facial moisturiser, as even on my dry skin it is too rich, it is perfect for most skin irritations on the body or as a topical product on the face, perhaps using it overnight as a treatment in particularly irritated areas. It is a thick dense texture To be honest I think I am becoming 'one of those' wives that nags. Whenever hubby tells me he is having issues with his eczema, we both have this 'oh so delightful' ailment, I first ask him if he has used the skin food.  He usually hasn't so I nag him to use it  as it always works and I have no idea why he doesn't just use it in the first place.  ...

Cute Korean products

Image
Ever since I received the Red Appletox moisturiser in a Memebox I have been obsessed with fruit shaped beauty products and sadly it has also led me onto collecting anything cute to the point I have quite a collection, a lot of it Tonymoly, and here is most of my collection. Tonymoly eggs (Blackhead steam balm, tightening cooling pack and silky smooth balm) This is a three step nose pore cleansing step These are probably my favourite products from the Tonymoly food shaped products I have bought so far. This is a great set of products as they deal really effectively with blocked pores on the nose as it a three step process by using the scrub then the mask then the balm. I have found that the scrub and the mask are very effective used together to clean the pores but I have to admit that the last step, the balm, doesn't wow me. If I wore makeup all the time it may be great as it gives a more flawless look with foundation but for me I don't wear enough makeup ...

Wednesday whine: Youbeauty discovery sell out fast again...

I have been a member of youbeauty discovery box on and off since the second box and only gave up getting them when the offerings became a little too 'samey' for my liking. The other reason behind my exit was that they moved the time that they were releasing their menus. They used to release them at midnight and have now moved it to 7am. Apparantly this move was to stop things selling out fast but from what I can deduce all that is has done is move the sell out under a faster period of time and made it so the system locks down at 7am and is often slow and sluggish for at least fifteen minutes. Hardly their aim tbh. Don't get me wrong, I like the box but lets call a spade a spade. Some months the boxes are still selling out fast. the reason for the move was more to do with people complaining about the late night start and although there was that late start most products were still there by noon on the first back then. But now, that isn't the case anymore as...

Procrastination....

Image
There are times when modern technology really is a distraction and for me that generally is when I am supposed to be writing or blogging and my apps are way too tempting for me to do anything productive, especially the task that I am trying to make progress on. Unfortunately there are some regular offenders on my tablet and some stores I can't help but browse on and since they corrupt me I cannot help but corrupt others by showing other people my favourite time drains. My favourite apple apps to steal my blogging/writing time: DomiNations my DomiNations town This app is a town building and war game similar to civisations where you build a town then take your army to attack other people's towns while other people attack yours. This is my biggest time drain at the moment and I find that it is strangely addictive to build my city, and to my shame, attack other people's cities. I love games like this and this one is one of the worst I have found as there i...

Premae triumph moisturising creme balm

Image
I use a lot of skincare over a year and definitely have had a lot of highs and lows with my different moisturisers and this is a definite high for me even if it has adjusted my routine slightly as with Premae skincare you use the serum as your last step in your skincare routine. The packaging feels and looks rather luxe The inside is a plastic insert and this helps you to make sure yoou get every ml. This is a dry/ageing skin targeted rich textured moisturising creme balm which is vegan and cruelty free and is also from an allergen free brand. It has a base of three natural oils, these are the largest ingredients in the ingredients list, (frankincense, wild carrot and aloe vera leaf oils) and because of this there is a strong scent of frankiscence that is rather herbal in nature and I am not sure if I like the scent or not. The ingredients are great in terms of their functions with helping with skin health though and have the benefits below: Frankincense oil i...
